L’articolo parla di come approcciare ludicamente lo studio della grammatica inglese nel secondo anno del corso bilingue
This month’s Literacy article is about overcoming boredom and promoting enthusiasm towards grammar learning. Learning grammar can be a bore, hard to keep focus and difficult to be interested in continuously. Therefore, I believe that games are a welcome break from the usual routine of the language class.
Class 2D Experience: what a fun! Last month I introduced games as a way of revising previous grammar structures. In groups of threes, the children played snakes and ladders having to answer various questions to move up a ladder. As feedback we then had a ‘’healthy’’ competition as a whole class. The children took well to the activities and their response and feedback was extremely positive. They were so focused on the activities but ended up absorbing the language subconsciously. All the children were involved, interested, and demonstrated their skills not only in grammar but also in many language areas.
In conclusion, games are another way to help children learn, review, and internalize various grammar structures while presenting them in an entertaining and communicative way and at the same time practicing all skill areas. One can also add that fun learning games usually contains repetition, which allows the language to stick.
