In questo articolo la prof. Silvia Iacono ci parla di “The Letter Project”, che dà agli alunni l'opportunità di imparare a scrivere una lettera in inglese e di creare un ponte tra insegnanti, ragazzi e genitori.
We are thrilled to share the heartwarming success of "The Letter Project" - a new initiative that aimed to create a bridge between the English teachers and the parents of our new sixth-grade students, and the response was truly remarkable.
The idea behind The Letter Project is simple but powerful. We invited parents to take part in a special "homework" assignment: writing a heartfelt letter about their child. In this letter, parents were encouraged to share their thoughts, hopes, and expectations for the upcoming school year. We wanted to get to know each student on a deeper level and understand what makes them unique.
After a couple of weeks we were overwhelmed by the incredible response from parents. Each letter was a glimpse into the lives, dreams, and aspirations of our students. Parents expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to share their thoughts and for the open channel of communication that “The Letter Project” provided. It was evident that they were eager to collaborate with us in creating the best possible learning environment for their children.
The letters painted vivid pictures of our students, their interests, strengths, and areas where they might need extra support. It was a powerful and interesting reminder of the vital role that parents play in their child's education, and some of them confessed that the request was a bit challenging!
We are thrilled to announce that “The Letter Project” was a definite success and that we plan to continue this tradition in the coming years. This initiative not only strengthens the partnership between us teachers and parents but also sets the tone for a harmonious and productive school year. We look forward to nurturing this collaboration to provide the best education for our students.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the parents who participated in the project. Their dedication to their child's education and the middle school community was surprising and inspiring. Let’s hope to continue working hand in hand to make this a memorable and successful academic journey for our students.
